My name is Sergiu, and I'm a senior backend developer from Moldova, with nearly 13 years of experience in the software development industry and bachelor's degree in computer science. Throughout my career, I worked on diverse projects, ranging from e-commerce applications to big data platforms and analytics systems. I applied for DevStaff's GTS program because it offered a unique opportunity to relocate to Canada, which has always been a country I admired. The immigration process was an exciting journey for me. With the support of DevStaff, I went through the necessary paperwork and medical examinations. I am an iOS developer with 9+ years of experience. I was working in Dubai for almost 5 years, and was planning to move to the UK or Canada for a better lifestyle. I found Venuiti as a torch light holding path to Canada.
The interview process took around 2 weeks and they interviewed me in multiple rounds. Once I made it through the interview process, I got an LMIA within 14 days and then I applied for the Work Permit via cic.gc.ca. Applying from Dubai the process was quick and I got the visa in 3 months. Jordan helped with the pre arrival requirements, she was helping me out in every step of the process.
I was skeptical at first if I should trust the company and people, but I trusted my instinct and started the process, here I am now, in Canada. Since my arrival 8 months ago, I’ve been working with Venuiti and am hoping to have many more years with them.

I’ve worked with DevStaff for about 3 years now. At first, I was hired by DevStaff to work with one of their clients based in Toronto that maintained a critical government system. They needed qualified workers to meet the project's deadlines, so I jumped in on a contract-basis and helped to successfully deliver the project. I later went on to join DevStaff’s sister company, Venuiti Healthcare, and worked on two of their internal projects. First, I worked on a national healthcare project where we developed an MVP solution from the ground up to modernize the current system's infrastructure. Second, I’m now working on a project focused on collecting patients' health information, analyzing it, and providing key data to enhance and optimize health systems. This is a rather complex but super exciting project, and DevStaff has fully supported me by giving me all the tools I need and I am very grateful for that.

Since I've been working for a long time only with companies from my original country, my goal was to start working with companies from abroad with a different culture than mine. The biggest perk I saw was the opportunity to move to Canada and immerse myself in an English environment. Devstaff helped me through the entire thing. After receiving the news of my acceptance in the selection process, the Recruiters booked a meeting to discuss the visa application. They went through the visa process, explained how it usually works, gave me the instructions on the document folder that Canada would require, and provided me tips about planning to live here. After getting all the documentation arranged, they helped me double-check (more than once) to ensure that the document list wouldn't be a problem.
In total, they overcame my expectations. More than helping me through the whole process, they cared about how comfortable my wife would feel here besides the fact that my wife wouldn't work with them. They gave us tips on places to go and places to see, they helped us with buying our furniture and even checked for a few weeks if they could help us with anything else.
